can i replace h by -h in the expansion of f(a+h) please help me out.......
In other words can i expand f(a-h) in terms of f(a) and its derivatives. The interval being (a-h,a) rather than (a,a+h).

thank you. you made me understand the taylor series/theorem.

nptel is a great resource ,what with pathetic professors in most of the engineering colleges and an equally pathetic atmosphere ,this is a very welcome change .

Fakrudeenaliahmed, could you please tell me what error it is? Sorry, I didn't remark it, and I wouldn't like to learn something wrong. Thanks you very much in advance.

Thank you for the lectures. These are great!
Taylor's theorem statement and proof is replete with off by one error. That is a bit confusing!
This is an excellent and easy to follow discussion of Taylor's Theorem; especially in using polynomials to initially motivate the idea. Cheers to NPTEL for putting such great resources out for the world to see.
