you have ears but where are your eyes!

@fieldnstreamer That 26 bull must be heavy! My LAR-8 has a Daniels Defense rail with the Mako grip/bipod. I have 3 troy ind solid rail covers on 3 sides L, R and Bottom just in front of the mag well. The rest of the covers are the rubber UTG covers.

@the308capital Hey Arron. I just found your channel and I like your opinion of RRA. I have pretty much the same gun, just the 26" varmint with bull barrel. A bit heavier but literally no recoil as you can see in my videos. But anyways, I just wanted to ask you what kind of rail and rail covers you have on yours and also what kind of bipod/grip combo you were using. Thanks.

@EHSPP16 It is true the M14 is a good gun but why do you think they make new guns? To replace the old, before in the old days, all the army cares about is big oversized weapons with a good rate of fire. Yes it is easy to clean, but because of the easy to clean factor that makes the gun too simple to be effective that's why most old age weapons are now only use for sporting purposes only.

@esh325 Well said. I love the m14 too but it is outdated. The EBR setup to mount the MIL-STD-1913 rails is massive. The FAL and AR are very ergonomic and easy to strip. I obviously love the 308 rifles but I have never considered buying an m1a. I still am going to get an FAL, hopefully next year.

@EHSPP16 While the M1A is by no means a bad rifle, it's quite a good rifle, but not the very best we could have given our soldiers. Not saying the M16 was perfect either. The M14 is a very iconic and historic American rifle. It has a very nice feel when you shoot it. It was too regressive though. The only reason it's still be used is because of its caliber only. The military doesn't seem to have an immeditate solution to replace it with. Like AR10 type rifles.

@EHSPP16 From having shot the FAL and AR10 and M1A. I'd have to say the FAL and AR10 are better designed rifles. FAL, while not as accurate as the M1A, still is more then accurate enough for combat imo. Ergonmics are better on the AR10 and FAL. Field stripping and cleaning is easier on the AR10 and FAL. Mounting optics is much easier on the AR10. The M1A has the useless stripper guide in the way making it harder to mount optics. You need two tools just to take the piston off on the M1A.

@the308capital I have both rifles and I'd have to agree with this. The AR10 is a better rifle then the M1A. I really don't like that you need two tools just to take the piston off. The M1A is a lot nicer to look at though.

@the308capital I may just have a soft spot for the M14/M1A because that is what I carry. I detest the M4 ever since basic it has caused me a massive headache. I wouldn't mind an AR10 variant with a piston system though. As for me that M1, M14/M1A operating system is just great though.
M14/M1A defeats all other 7.62x51mm rifles in all areas. Accuracy, reliability, recoil, and ease of cleaning. Gotta love rifles built in the ways of the old school before bean counters got their two cents in.

@EHSPP16 Both the m1a and AR-10 are great rifles, however, the AR-10 has advantages over the M1A. It is 2 pounds lighter, just as easy to clean and above all, LESS felt recoil. With the stock/ buffer tube being inline, the AR-10 is easier to keep on target during rapid fire whereas the downward angle of the m1a stock leads to pivoting during fire. Also, the m14/ m1a has a long piston/op rod which means more mass is thrusting rearwards with each shot leading to greater felt recoil.
