Why Mormons Build Temples

Throughout history, the Lord has commanded His people to build temples. Temples are literally houses of the Lord. They are holy places of worship where individuals make sacred promises with God.

The reason there aren't crucifixes in the LDS temples/church buildings is because, while we recognize the importance of Christ's death, we focus on His resurrection, when He overcame death.

I LOVE our temples. Their beauty is profound and otherworldly. I think of beautiful music (enya, of course) when I view them. I KNOW that this is the true church.

When I was a small child, like two or three. I used to dream of going to titanic temples where I heard beautiful music. These dreams have always stuck with me and are a huge part of my personal testimony.

No sinner can enter Heaven(Rev21:27)Only people living holy lives can enter heaven, but being holy is impossible. The only way we live a holy life is by God's grace, through faith. We can only receive Gods grace if we are in right relationship with Him. Jesus death on the cross reconciled us to God. Now reconciled we can receive His grace through the Holy Spirit who changes our hearts of stone to hearts of flesh. With our hearts of flesh, we can live in holiness giving us access into Heaven

I think it is interesting that the Bible has been translated out of Latin into English, and the book of Mormon has been translated into over 100 languages EXCEPT Latin. btw I am LDS, just a point to throw. Hope to visit a temple soon :)

Actually, the original languages were Hebrew and some books in Aramaic (O.T.), and the N.T. was in Greek. While there are Latin versions of the Bible, it wasn't the original language.

With all due respect, that is because we don't adhere to the exact Christian theology that has been the norm since we believe the true Gospel was lost in what the scriptures mention as the Apostasy. Ergo, we believe in a complete Restoration.

Originally the Bible wasn't The "Bible". It was a collection of scrolls which what are now scriptures were written on. During the Council of Nicea in 325 Ad, it was decided by over 300 religious leaders which books were to be considered scripture and which of those were to be thrown out. This is excluding the Apocrypha. It's interesting to note that nearly a dozen other books are mentioned in the bible, but aren't found in present Bibles.

You are correct, John wrote the Book of Revelation on the Isle while banished on the Isle of Patmos towards the end of his life. As someone mentioned, the scripture " adding onto" and "taking away" refers specifically to that book. IF this wasn't the case, Today's bible would be invalid after Duet 4:2.
