@BushWomanOtter I wouldn't let anything hold you back. One other avenue would be to apply as skilled labor for work in CA with a good company, and they may take care of the cost of your Work Visa ad credentialing...if you want to stay there, apply from within Canada, you can't leave until it is approved, @ a year. Once you have residency, you are good and will get citizenship in about 3 years.

@emohunterCHCH I would say given your flying conditions that your requirements are a lot more stringent. Present your credentials to Transport Canada for review. You might also do the same w/FAA as well. Having a commercial lisence is a plus for you. If I remember correctly, you would be already qualified on floats so, you sould be good to go. I have seen 20-somethings on floats above Lake Superior.

@BushWomanOtter I have an NZ CAA Commercial licence issued in 2005 and im 23. I dont have an FAA licence. the NZ CAA licence is alot more difficult to obtain and highy regarded as compared to an FAA licence.

@emohunterCHCH Search Transport Canada and you should be able to find the requirements on their website. I know you cannot start too old, as it takes a while. However, if you are rated in US, you may have reciprocity in some form...or some proof of proficiency.

but sum of the more expensive sky dive operations, the pilot has to rush back, fly a helicopter out, and winch his divers back up
