  • Yes, here they go again! Nice try but other than the tune there is no trace of a Hollies touch to this band. Our next door Saturday night bar band sounds a lot better than these folks. I'm sorry but there's just not a bit of Hollies touch to them at all! They sound pretty much like a 'round-the-corner' band!

royston52 speaks the truth and he gets my vote!

  • Tony Hicks and Bobby Elliott are the only original Hollies left...

..but I don't agree that the harmonies are off in this video. They were actually good. It's just that the band sound like nothing more than a serviceable Hollies cover band at present.

Still, the original Hollies are (and will always be) brilliant!

  • I quite agree wth MegaSherriff on this. You need to see The Hollies live to appreciate how good they are, not from a recording on a mobile phone. Having followed them from the beginning they are brilliant. Peter's voice gets better each time I see them. Congratulations to all The Hollies on their recent tour and visit to Harrogate last Saturday. What a lovely bunch of guys they are alway willing to chat to their fans. Roll on April 2012 in Leeds. THEN, NOW AND ALWAYS. X

  • @ballochdubh

I'm afraid I have to agree. I'm glad Tony and Bobby are still around also, but this simply doesn't do The Hollies justice. Even if just Alan Clarke was back it would make a huge difference-- they could sound like the real band even without Nash.

It's just like The Searchers. They tour these days, but there's just one original member (John McNally), and the rest are imposters. Without Chris Curtis and/or Tony Jackson it's basically a bar band.

  • Would you go to see the Who without Daltry. This bunch are a joke, and please if you are under sixty four please dont argue with me, your not qualified.

  • I'm not saying anything negative about this because I think it's great that Tony and Bobby are still carrying the torch. However, I will say that I really really miss Alan. x0x

  • I quite agree. This is basically Tony Hicks' tribute band now. The lyrics are even different and they don't sound the same at all.

  • listening to a recording off a mobile phone is not the way to judge anybody, see them live , then have an opinion

  • @RainOfBlue even if all the original Hollies got together again do you think they would sound like a cover band? It's been over 30 years. Who would you like to have back in the band with Tony and Bobby to make it more than a touch of The Hollies?

  • @RainOfBlue I'm sorry to say, you're dead right.

  • well I just saw a Yes concert in Florida without Jon Anderson, not too bad..;they got a new lead singer from a tribute band in Canada...they still have Steve Howe, Chris Squire and Alan White, but they have Oliver Wakeman on keyboards......they were loud!!! they are coming back in two months to Clearwater with Peter Frampton, they played with Frampton in the '70s, one concert at JFK stadium had over 160000 people.....
