John Hickenlooper "Change" 2003 Mayoral Campaign Ad

In 2003 increased parking meter rates were a source of citywide outrage, and Candidate John Hickenlooper highlighted the issue an example of the "fundamental nonsense of government" he sought to correct. Pledging to lower parking meter rates if elected, Candidate John Hickenlooper promised to "make change" - both literally and figuratively. Hickenlooper even wandered the streets of Downtown Denver, change belt attached, "making change" for people trying to park.
