i think what i'm doing is this chord formation:

---o------

---x------

---8------

---6------

try that and let me know if it doesn't sound right. you slide it up or down according to the chord changes. keep the 4th string muted and the 1st and 3rd open. slide the other three strings up or down for the right chords. the chords you should make should be open chordings (not major or minor) and so should sound how it sounded when i did it...

You aren't supposed to strum the whole chords at once. You sort of strum two strings at once in eighth notes. try finding a live performance of Radiohead playing it. You can see Thom's strumming hand going in more precise patterns.
