  • excellent group from the 70's, it was a sound of Chicago with Santana I saw them in San Diego many times and yes they rocked the arena........

  • These guys played a bar called the Monk's Cave in Missoula, MT in the early 70's. They blew everybody away. I still have their selftitled album.

  • @kimmyrabb My uncle's band too haha. I am Tim McFarland's nephew.

  • best live band I ever heard..their live shows were always rocking..I attended every

show of Ballinjack I could..Still have their albums..lol..

  • I'm 16 and in to music like this thru REAL hip hop. I'm just said that the funk died long before I was even born :(

  • Still have this album. Thanks for posting.

  • By the way, I saw someone below mention Quicksilver. A friend of mine and I brought Quicksilver to the Napa High Gym in 1967. Ticket price - $2. A total sellout. They arrived in a fleet of '57 Chevies. Station wagons for the gear, sedans for the band. lol

  • Saw them several times in the 70s in Chico and Napa, CA. They were always hot! Much better than Chicago, who I also saw live. In fact, Chicago opened for Jimmy Hendrix at the Oakland Coliseum that night. Crazy ass concert THAT was!

  • My uncle's band! They were incredible.

  • I saw these guys back in 71 - they opened for Quicksilver and stole the show.

  • It has been at least 35 years since I've heard this song, and I am amazed how the memories of the guitar fills, the vocal nuances, the punctuation of the horn section and that great trombone solo marched right out of the dust in my brain as this song played. Thanks MrHotpantsImComin for posting this; to borrow a favorite quote from American Pie movie: GOD BLESS THE INTERNET.

  • This track is intense. Some of the best trombones I ever heard. One big wall of brassy sound. There are ten trillion songs called "Hold On" but when I see those two words this is the ONLY "Hold On" I remember. After that great lead guitar solo the trombones come in as if plugged into something. A great surprise. The band was electrified in this performance and I love every minute of it.

  • Dope gravy.

  • Love dis track air since it was new.

  • Can find this stuff any place. I love it.

  • WOW!! such a Long time looking for this, I just had the melody in my mind. Those were the days, man!!! THANKS A LOT FOR POSTING IT.

  • @jackwittaker

I think that's "CARNY man in some small town..."

(CARNY - Someone who works in a carnival. The term is also applied to the carnival itself. It's a term used by some in the business and disliked by others.)

That's how I always heard it, anyway!

  • Can somebody post "Telephone:?

  • What a trip. Where's Found A Child? That was the hit. I got to see them twice in Anaheim 1970, they kicked ass. I still have the album.

  • Wow! What a fabulous blast from the past! My favorite song from one of my favorite albums of 1970! Thanks for posting!

  • Yes, I used to love 'Carnival' but I'd completely forgotten about it until I read your comment. Thank you for stirring my memory bank.

  • Thanks for posting! I also grew up listening to this album early 70's, love it.

Any chance you will post 'Carnival'?

Funny man in some small town, makes the two-bit wheel go-round...
