In 1959 from 9 June to 19 August, my father got the opportunity to enter the three masted Topsail Schooner Flying Clipper, and sail this together with 12 other swedish sailors. The boat was heading to the Mediterranean from Gothenburg. It was the former chairman of "Encyclopedia de Britannia" that rented the ship for his American guests, among them was the former president candidate Adlai Stevenson.
My father was 17 at this time and this was of course a big adventure, before it went common with traveling. After the journey he came home and cut the film together with his own animations. This part is not just from San Antonio, this you will be able to se for your self.
He used a Braun fixfocus. Kodachrome dubbel-8, this was -59 before the super 8. The camera had to be "turned up".
We are now working on a photo book together, a Logbook, from the same trip with middle format slides from his Voigtlander. Beautiful images that just getting better with the years. "Flying Clipper Loggbok" (it's in Swedish) will come out at the 50th anniversary of this Journey.
