I'm finally restoring my bike that is the same. I got my gas tank cleaned for it because the previous owner left gas in it for awhile, but it doesn't need much else done.

Vito is hard to keep up with, aint he? Nephew got a xl250 and found a frame and a 550four for yours true. I have a dual disc Kaw fork for it.

I have a "76" cb 550k and I travel around the mountains of New Hampshire all summer on my bike. Screw a Harley there for old fat guys with a fat belly, a ZZ top beard and a beat looking wife! Every Harley riding guy looks down apoun me like I'm a stuck up yuppie that dosn't know shit about the road. They dont realize that I ride for the same reason they do. For freedom and adventure! Dont ever judge a book by its cover.

All the 550's have bad brakes. Makes it brutal to ride if your a beginner.

The bike is not mine, but yes, my buddy still has it. It's a blast to ride, but seriously needs better brakes and more power. It turns in great and is thus fun in the twisties.
