'A' Reg (or 1962) Morris Oxford with 1622cc engine, column gear change and bench seat. Looks rough but actually has MOT. Update Oct 2009, has been partially restored and belongs to bloke in Oxford now - has been to many local shows.

  • my 1st car was a g reg, morris oxford in 1976 i had to start it with the crank handle...i blew the motor on the m4..when my foot was to the floor i wish i had that car today.....lol crash box and all..

  • Yeah that old crank handle has been handy just of late when the cold weathers knackered the battery, but you've got to watch your thumb in case of kickback!

  • bit of a death trap by the looks of it lol, but im sure it is an amazing car for an enthusiast

  • It was (and still is today) MOT'd so no death trap. Old bangers like this require a little more concentration to drive and if you're unlucky enough to be involved in a shunt , the lack of airbags crumple zones etc won't do you much good but maybe because modern cars have all that stuff is why modern drivers take such high risks?

  • Nice one-they were good in their day and even better today, well built and reliable cars , I am very fond of mine.

  • Nice onr mate - have you seen my G reg one also here on Youtube? That is well tidy for its age.

    What type have you?

  • WHAT A GREAT BRITISH CAR!

  • my dad had one and it used it for 35 years with very few mechanical problems!!

  • @PGPyramid1 either style of plate is legal for cars made before 1973. 1973-present cars require yellow plates

  • my dad loves these cars, he says they are the best ever made, i can see y

  • My Dad had a green Morris Oxford with a white roof like the one featured in this video. What happy memories. I would love to have one.

  • Lovely old cars these. And to think some idiots are banger racing them if they can get them cheap enough. Give me an A60 over my modern plastic box any day!!

  • thanks...love it....

  • I agree with that, totally. And if we all had a car like this one in the video we would drive much more carefully and respectfully.

It's quite astonishing that the car still exists let alone still drive , MOT'd or not lol
