Built 2 large ponds, to collect rainwater, falling on the nearby 10 acre land. The two ponds are - each about 50 ft wide by 200 feet long. The first one is 14 feet deep, the second one is 18 feet deep. The naturally occurring clay soil holds the water. We will use water from one pond for internal water requirements for the trees and plants. The water from the other pond will be filtered and supplied to the nearby villages at a very nominal cost. The two ponds together hold around 7 million litres of water. A water test at IIT Madras showed the water was highly turbid but had no other contaminants.
