  • @KenSicX I think angels lose them when they fall from Heaven

  • @KenSicX No - your not alone - Nobody else could see them either 'cause she aint wearing any.

  • What a magic combination that is - just the solo violin and the appeggio vibes at the beginning (after the pipes) - like cool rippling water in a Highland stream. Never realised it was so effective before I heard this - and cant say I've heard it anywhere else either,

  • @filmscoreman12...Exactly right...it's a penny whistle..one of several instruments belonging to the "Tin Whistle" family...

  • am I the only one who couldn't see her wings?

  • The guy a 2:55 just cracks me up every time!

  • @filmscoreman12 Thank God for the Irish fiddle bow hold! Otherwise we'd always be stuck with seried rows of unmoving string sections or static soloists contorting their faces as if in their death throes. I wouldn't change a thing on this video (nor a note!). It's up there at the very top of: 'what YouTube was made for' videos. YEAH!

  • @filmscoreman12 Yes - top notch. And as regards 'deadpanness' I wouldn't have it any other way. They are playing the straight guy to Mairead's mesmorising magic. And it makes me chuckle even more to see how unresponsive (and even bored) they are towards her. The contrast points up her mercurial mobile talent all the more (apart from David who's bouncing about on the piano a bit - getting well into it! - and the cheeky pipe player chappy!).

  • I saw her perform this with an orchestra, a reduced band, and David at the piano in Lansing, MI last month - sitting in the balcony, 6 seats away from the stage...most incredible thing I've seen. David, Mairead, the orchestra players, even the conductor of that concert was having a grand ole' time with it.

  • @jezkn Well, these are the Irish Film Orchestra players (and they're brilliant) - one would presume that (since there was rain, they didn't get much of any run-through before the concert) they were more focused on playing it right...
