Hi folks, here is a walk-around video of my 1977 Harley XLCR 1000 cafe racer. She looks good and runs well now, but only after a lot of work. Enjoy!

  • Looks fantastic! I've been thinking of buying one for awhile but I'm wondering what they ride like. Anyone ridden any old Jap stuff they could compare it to? I'm riding around on an old 79 Z1000 at the moment. I wonder how the XLCR compares?

Hi, these bikes are loads of fun to ride, handling pretty well, but they are pretty slow, vibrate a lot and require a LOT of maintenance just to keep 'em going. They do look great, though. Go for it if you always wanted one!

  • We have a 1977 XLCR1000 with only 1800 original miles and restored to original condition. Awesome bike.

  • @dozerblade There were only nine XLCR1000's produced in 1979. Since the Cafe Racers were each bench built they were built to the buyers specs after purchase. Each one is unique. I own a '79 and would love to know anything about where any of the other 8 are.

  • WOW!!!! NICE HD!

  • im not into american bikes i like euro and jap bikes but il admit this is one slick ride good job

  • This bike was way ahead of it's time, I had a 1979 xls1000 which made it more of a tourer, I believe that is what they did with the cafe racer when it didn't sell very well

  • No XLCR badges on the side covers - looks repainted.

  • really cool, i like it On Blackrain the film !!

  • totally kewl!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • Nice Formotion clock! Got 'em on my Triumphs. Yes, Yes...Nice bike. Seriously, the only Harley I'd own!

  • I'm a Harley guy but those old sporties are pretty underpowered. Love the CBX.
