http://www.homesforourtroops.org/schulz - Army SPC Jason M. Schulz was returning from a vehicle recovery mission in November 2007 when the Salvage and Recovery Wrecker he was riding in struck an IED in Mosul, Iraq. The blast ripped through the door on the right side of the truck, hitting the location where SPC Schulz was seated, resulting in the loss of both of his legs. After first being airlifted to Germany, SPC Schulz arrived at Brooke Army Medical Center in Texas to begin his recovery process.

Due to the long waiting list for handicap-accessible housing at Jasons military base, he waited nine months for the opportunity to move into a home that met his needs. Upon his discharge from the Army later this year, Jason will be forced to once again begin a search for handicap-accessible housing.

Jason hopes to enter a college program for Business Management or Mechanical Engineering in the future. He has dreams of one day opening his own business. Jason and his wife, Lina, are also looking forward to living near his family in Wisconsin.

Please consider helping Homes for Our Troops provide SPC Jason Schulz with a specially adapted home that will accommodate his needs and enable him to concentrate on recovery and his future.
