Here is my own version of a 2 tank WVO filtering system in my garage. Filtering and dewatering waste vegetable oil is clean and easy for me.

  • Hello, I see so many folks using wvo, I just got a conversion kit for my Mercedes 240 D diesel but I can't seem to find any restaurants that are willing to let me pick up the oil.... they all look at my funny and say "oh no, we have a contract"... what is the secret to finding a supplier?

  • @BesidesDaniel- I always recommend finding oil first them convert. 1) try to get place your frequent most. It's hard to get big chains. Local mom & pop seem to be the best 2) many restuarants get paid now so you need to show value. Either environmentally (using oil for local fuel rather than put in dog food, cosmetics etc.) or advertise for them. I have a clean truck so I have their logo sticker on the back & promote them all the time. Create color flyer explaining this. Be reliable & clean

  • I've been using SVO on my 02' F250 w/7.3DI also for the past 2 years. Nice video! I would of probably would of mounted the fill-in somewhere diff than the door jam just because of the accident spills and smell close to your sitting area. Thanks

  • @azrios - sorry for the delay - THANKS! Glad to hear you running for a couple years now too! The cap is not breathable so there are no fumes. I have had a couple overflows, but drools out the truck. I have also had it burp a couple times and splash inside - that was not fun :(. This was the hidden location from the kit and supplier of the system. Tank is undermounted in the frame rail (40 gal)

  • Did you buy you excursion with the veggie system or have it installed, and if so by what company . Nice clean setup Thanks for the great ideas

  • @nz7476 Thanks again - Biofuelstechnologies formerly Dinofuelalternatives sells the kit and tank for the powerstrokes and Dodge. Not cheap at all. I did the install myself over the course of a long weekend. Saved me about $800 to $1000 in labor. I did the full system with tank, gauges, switches and all. Took over a year in fuel savings to pay it back but already paid for itself and MORE. Now it's all money in my pocket :-)

  • Any chance you could e-mail me what size barrels don't look like 55 gal drums

  • @dp8002 - Thanks. All the questions you asked are answered in the comments below. Hate to keep repeating and lose the chain. I hope your build goes well too!

  • Where did you get the whole house filters? What brand? Also where did you get your pump? Great system! I have a Excursion also & am getting the final system put on.

  • Thanks!! My 40 gal tank is undermounted in the framerail so I loose no cargo space. Built through biofuelstechnologies . Wasn't cheap but is pretty sweet. I've had ZERO enigine or fuel issues so far (knock on wood) -Going on 30K miles veg oil. I heat the fuel properly, purge properly, and filter the best I can. Don't do one of those and you can mess things up. The IDI's are a little more forgiving I hear. My stock tank is pure diesel. An italian tune so often helps burn stuff off.
