Conservative MEP Daniel Hannan (the brains) has a tet-a-tet with New Labour's Caroline Flint (no brains) on one of the newspapers of today's issue - Europe. Caroline proves she like all of New Labour, knows nothing about anything.

Recorded from Sky News, 25 October 2009.

  • Wat a div talkin a load of shite.

  • Definitely a MILF!

  • I think Mr. Hannan will be late for his American television interviews and let's not forget his flight for his 50th tour of the USA. He spends more time airing British dirt Laundry in America where he wants to be famous than he does in the UK.

  • Indeed there are no laws but the EU is a protectionist racket. The Common Agricultural Policy is responsible for untold misery in Africa because it subsidises inefficient European farmers at the expense of African farmers whose existence is dependent upon exports.

What influence do we have in the EU? We abandoned our rebate for reform of the CAP, and it hasn't happened. Political influence is irrelevant in a globalised world.

  • @Bastiat90

There are no laws preventing trading with the BRICS.

Nor the Commonwealth, which the UK does not have 'leadership.' They are sovereign states not part of a Sterling imperial trading area.

As a consequence I'm pragmatically pro EU. Never say never of course but I believe the UK has more leverage and influence as a major economy in the world's largest trading block than it would in 'splendid isolation.'

  • @youngian yeah i know, Norway and Switzerland , Japan, Australia, the list is endless all airy -fairy hot air and figments of our imagination, imagination which you obviously lack.

  • Would you care to explain? Our vision is a positive, internationalist vision; as opposed to the narrow nationalism of the EU. The world's borders do not end at Russia. Britain has many friends throughout the world because of its leadership of the Commonwealth. We should be trading with South Africa and India, China and Brazil. Around 160 countries survive without the euro or being a member of the EU. Is their conception of politics airy-fairy hot air?

  • Hannan and UKIP thrive on what they are against. Their vision of the UK outside of the EU is a load of airy-fairy hot air.

  • Who would marry her?
