*See very bottom of page for Step by Step instructions*

First you will need

A decent Computer and relatively Fast Duo Core CPU (2.2ghz at least). Mines:

E7200 @ 2.53ghz
2gb Ram
BFG GeForce 9600GT 512mb

The game mainly runs off the CPU so you only really need a fast CPU and a decent Graphics Card.

Celeron D and lower CPUs, and Integraded Graphics Cards (Chipset) are Garbage for running on the emulator.

CHECK WITH THIS THREAD IF YOU'RE UNSURE IF YOUR COMPUTER IS FAST ENOUGH
http://forums.pcsx2.net/thread-2331.html

Check if your GPU supports pixel shader 2.0 or higher:

Get the emulator off the official Website
http://www.pcsx2.net

Get the BIOS here:
http://rapidshare.com/files/346909408/bios.rar
http://www.mediafire.com/?qznz2ny0mow

Alternatively, Download "My Folder" at the bottom of the description.

These are my settings:

Old Settings (Windows XP):

THE LATEST, MOST UP-TO-DATE PLUGINS "MARCH 2010":
http://rapidshare.com/files/366407235/Plugins-11-March-2010.7z

For more speed:
Set Clamp Modes to "none"
Enable "Flush to Zero"
Use Higher Speed Hacks
Enable IOP 2x Cycle Rate
Reduce your graphics settings
Check the Native Box
Run in Fullscreen

If you own the game, you can run it off the Disc, but its recommended you convert it to an ISO because it runs faster/better off your hard drive. You can also download the ISO somewhere on the internet.

Use Linuz cdvdrom, if it doesnt work mount with Daemon-Tools and use Gigaherz.

If you experience a "No Memory card" problem or your settings wont save, make sure you run the emulator as the admin:
Install the Emulator for "everyone" not "just me"
XP: right click-run as-admin
Win7/Vista: right click-properties-security-edit-set all accounts to "allow"
OR
Log into the Admin Account

----------------------

FOR EVERYONE WHO STILL CANT GET IT RUNNING!

DO YOU HAVE LATEST EVERYTHING?
Emulator/ Plugins/ Direct X/ Drivers for your hardware??
Chances are your hardware drivers are out of date if you dont remember the last time you updated them.

YOU NEED ATLEAST 2.2GHZ DUO CORE TO EVEN GET CLOSE TO FULL SPEED ON THE OLDER PS2 GAMES. ATLEAST 2.5GHZ FOR THE NEWER PS2 GAMES. DONT EXPECT TO GET FULL SPEED WITH LESS, IT IS HIGHLY UNLIKELY.

IF YOU DONT KNOW HOW TO GET .ISO's LEARN TO TORRENT DOWNLOAD.

If you get an "SSE" error, that mean's your CPU doesnt have that particular SSE feature, pick a different SSE one or no SSE at all.

IF YOUR GAME DOESNT START.... Did you check the pcsx2 website's compatibility list?

If you get choppy audio/bad video during cutscenes turn off your speed hacks.

DONT EXPECT ALL GAMES TO WORK WITH THE SAME SETTINGS:
If you have missing graphics that means you need to tweak the advanced settings for the specific game, go to the forums for help if you dont know what you're doing.

When asking me for help, make sure you tell me what exactly is the problem. Dont just write "I cant get it to work, please help!". Tell me your Specs and your Settings and what exactly is the problem.

  • @luuij0ss Not where I live. In England games range from 50p to £15 (do the conversions)

  • Pcxs2 is far from being perfect and wont run all games 100% even if you have a great PC so don't expect MGS2-3 or something demanding to run fullspeed/no glitches the ps2 is a bitch to emulate cause of it's odd architecture.

  • @GOODBADGAMER I'm pretty sure building a PC takes a extensive knowledge meaning a spoiled kid wouldn't be able to build one... actually, I KNOW it takes extensive knowledge... lol

  • It's not working. I've mounted my ISO file to the F: drive, and I've assigned it on PCX2, but when I try to run the game. It just says "Please insert a PS1 or PS2 format disk" please help me!

  • @GOODBADGAMER so you don't even know what building a pc means, do you? stupid asshole

  • @AdityaNair1000 really? so how'd you make the case, and how'd make the metal and stuff? if you just put it together. any spoilt little rich kid can do that. if you actually built it and made it, now thats something! some people dont have enough money from their daddys and mumms to build them selfs a nice computer
