Here is an MHS hilt I got in one of the Grab Bags offered at The Custom Saber Shop (link below). I have installed a prototype of the Open Saber Project's driver board. It is running a LedEngin Red 10W at 5.3v and 2A. This is powered by a set of 18650 Li-Ion batteries. As I said, this is just a prototype, the completed saber will sport a Open Saber Project sound board also.. Thanks for watching

  • it lacks soundboard, this is more likely a flashlight conversion that a lightsaber buid...

  • @torpejg52 I don't actually say it is a lightsaber build, so I don't understand your comment. Perhaps you misinterpreted my intention. This video is, as the title suggests, a preview of an LED driver board I had been working on. The hilt I put it in is irrelevant to this.

  • spread your lightsabers further apart when doin comparisons. look at my vids and you will see how to interview a prop representing a George Lucas LIGHTSABER.and you need ultraedge blades too

    Jado

  • Generally I find interviewing props one sided. They don't speak much - although I might 'review' a prop. This video is not meant to be a review but a preview.

  • did you make your own custom heatsink and optics? Do they make a "star" with 4 emitters on it?

  • The LEDengin LED's are a single LED with 4 die inside - thus Optics are quite simple. I use K2 Optics. The Optics and the Heatsink come from the custom Saber shop.

  • @evileinstein It was not my intention to upset you, sorry man, i mean that perhaps it is more clarifier if you show how to change a 900 lumen LED into the lightsaber electronics build for the normal 180 lumen LED, instead of disguise a 900 lumen flashlight as a lightsaber and comparing it with the real lightsaber. ;-)

  • that was very good video how did u do that step by step ( do u no how to make amber light blink i wll have 4 lights blinking every 8 second) do u no how -simpleway

  • red ones iffy but the darth vaderone is more realistic

  • i think its an unstable crystal.. I THINK

  • Great work on the driver and good selection of LED. Awesome job.

  • look's like Darth Malaks :D

  • Thanks! I just read up on the tri-rebel.. which apparently doesn't have a proper solution for optics. LEDengin seems like the ticket!
