This is a canoe motor mount project that I did just because I had the motor. It's more of a backup motor just in case I get caught down stream of in a situation where I could use a bit more power. The 1 hp motor weighs 13.5 pounds without fuel so it doesn't really get in the way as far as weight goes. I know that I should tie it down in case of a flip over.
Great idea,

Good idea. I like the simplicity and dollar amount to make it. Thanks for posting. I just got a Minn Kota 55lbs electric motor for my 16' canoe. It should move it pretty good.

I thought I would throw a peice of advise your way....I would have a small cable attached to your little vintage motor, just incase the 2x4 split and broke, you wouldn't lose that little gem to the bottom of the lake.

Great informative video. I'm copying the idea for my 17' Alumacraft canoe using a 35 pound thrust MotorGuide electris trolling motor.

You gave me a very good idea. I´ll use wing nuts. The idea is astonishing good.
Thanks.
