Rob writes, "I'm about to start hosting a DJ night and am trying to figure out what kind of setup to use. Since my music library is mainly comprised of digital files, it seems obvious to run a laptop and use something like Virtual DJ." Our resident DJ, AppJudgment's Maurico Balvanera has the gear to get would be DJs up and running, from $10 to $500!

Dont forget the behringer 3000. Awesome midi controller. Maybe a behringer tweakelizer for some effects is also great and not that expensive compared to the controller fr

@thetechzonelive As far as Serato Intro and Virtual DJ are concerned, these two would be great starter software for somebody wants to get into digital djing for the first time, most mobile dj's use VDJ, Traktor is more for users who like to customize/improvise.

@thetechzonelive I personally have the S2 and love Traktor Pro 2 but he doesn't want to beatmatch, use EQ, scratch or do effects/custom mappings so probably a Numark Mixtrack Pro w/serato intro for half the price would be appropriate for his intended use which is still applicable later on if he wants to get into proper djing and just upgrade the software.
