The Story of Silk

This video tells the story of silk production in Shanghai, China starting with the eggs of silkworms to worms' production of fibers to make their cocoons. The silk is unraveled from the cocoons like thread from a spool. The Chinese have cultivated silkworms for more than 5,000 years.

Silkworms are amazing! They're so pretty and useful. They're pretty as worms, beautiful as moths, and my understanding is the pupae can be good for eating. I wish I had some silk fibers, I bet they spin like a dream!

What is the way to find the cocoon empty so the moth can fly away ..and cosume naturally?! O my -is so good to know how things are important , isn't it!

The moths do not fly away. If they make a hole in the cocoon, they damage the silk thread. Only a few worms become moths so that they moths can lay eggs. Most of the worms are boiled inside the cocoons they make for us.
