@Hervinbalfour And it does worth it ! The Kuhn-Bösendorfer is absolutely a wonderful piano !

C. Bechstein are the best pianos in the world.....

Don't forget Fortnum and Mason!

I wasn't really worried about the quality - also, never heard of a Steingraber. Will research.

Fazioli's are expensive as well. But I have to be honest with you. I played a Steingraber and I decided that is officially the piano of all pianos. The range of tones and colors in this piano is unmatched. I thought a Bosy was phenominal but a Steingraber beat them all.

Are you all forgetting Fazioli? Stuart and Son may be expensive too

I am famiiar with his blue book however his prices are not set in stone as the retailer can set the price. Bosendorfer makes two concert grands; the 275 (9')and the Imperial (9'6"). The Imperial at the average retailer runs $220,000. I have been looking for a reasonably priced Imperial for a few months now and if you can tell me where I can get an Imperial for under $190,000 then I'm all ears. You might be able to find a 275 for $167,000 but definitely not a new Imperial for that amount.

No, it is C. Bechstein. Look at Larry Fine's annual supplement 2008-9. Example, polished ebony 9'2" Bosendorfer is $167,514 and the Fazioli is $179,200. The same C. Bechstein is $207,600. In general you will find that the C. Bechstein is the most expensive piano.

Look at Larry Fine's book. The annual supplement shows the prices of all pianos. C. Bechstein's are the most expensive pianos. New, they are about double the price of American Steinways.

The most expensive piano isn't a Bechstein. It's actually a bosendorfer.
