Let's say you had been a regular customer and you found out she had supported a proposition that would declare all Mormons cult members and deny them the rights accorded other religious groups. Would you continue to spend money there? Given the number of restaurants in LA I think you would choose to go and spend your money elsewhere- I think any self respecting person would.

She is the manager and owners daughter right? That's more significant than someone washing dishes in the back. I think what particularly stings is that she is the face of the restaurant- someone the gay community considered a friend.
Your assertion that every business is being targeted for a boycott is simply not true. Perhaps enough of her fellow Mormons like yourself can rally together and make up for the lost gay traffic. If she supported a bill targeting Mormons you would feel differently.

McC, I talked with Marjorie for about 1/2 an hour when my fiancee and I ate at El Coyote recently. Marjorie told me that she has no ownership in El Coyote. She was surprised that people had been saying otherwise. Didn't anyone check on this before creating this mess???

Why is it so common for opponents of Prop 8 to mis-state things and then challenge whoever tells the truth accurately?

Owning or not has nothing to do with a person's right to say, donate, or vote as she will anyway.

I believe it was a co owner wasn't it. That's a much bigger deal than if it was a dishwasher.

OK -- one of 89 employees donated to Prop 8. This was enough to demonstrate, boycott, harass customers and that one employee. So the standard is that if 1/89 of a business's employees voted for Prop 8, you will do these things to that business.

Given this 1/89 standard you set with El Coyote, and more than half the state voted for Prop 8, are there any businesses that you can patronize? Looking at you from the other side, your stand appears to have removed you from our economy.
