Does M Theory explain everything in the universe? What does it stand for and what does it mean? And how does the eleventh dimension play a part in the new theory? Find out more about the surreal scientific theories that question our existence in the universe in this video from BBC science show 'Parallel Universes'.

  • Quite abstract theories, however a concrete truth that I'm aware of, is that Nutella sandwiches are delicious. They taste quite alright in my 3 dimensional universe, and in the multiverse, composed of 11 dimensions. I can only imagine that Nutella sandwiches taste even better... That is if they are aloud to exist.

  • @ocbaker56 from what i have learned from these videos, thats the point of a parallel universe. all the laws of nature and physics that we have come to know would be opposite or they wouldn't exist.

  • it is "conciousness", solved.... next..........

  • I think its a little sad that they would throw out all of physics etc... just to say this exists. (I'm not saying it doesn't, I'm just saying thats what they have to do to try and prove it exists).

You could say: Our solar system doesn't have a membrane around it, so why should our Universe? The Solar winds of our sun push away the harmful universe (most of it anyway), why not suggest that the winds of the big bang protect us from other universes. (Don't quote me on any of this, its an example)

  • @crud4 Sad but true...

  • It obviously stands for money as that's the only thing that matters on this planet (for better or worse).

  • sounds crazy, but smoke dmt and you will see the 11 dimension, and perhaps whats on the other side

  • @Joeri12 all the dimensions past "time" itself are the hidden spatial dimensions wrapped up in and around each other so compact deep inside the depths of a quark. If the atom were the size of our solar system, then the size of a string would be analogous to the size of a tree on Earth. They didn't really skip these dimensions; All they're saying is by adding one more spatial dimension, the strings in string theory actually turn into another material called 'membranes' rather than strings.

  • M can mean "Magical", "Mother", or "Membrane". One thing for certain is that the guy who named it didn't have really anything in mind when naming it M-theory.

  • @TheRadar77 lol. i just downloaded that movie.
