Accompanied by Aimee Doiron.

A piece I performed at the Newfoundland Provincial Music Festival this past May. The Pavane is a difficult one to capture emotionally, especially when one hasn't had much life experience; however I performed to the best of my ability and was proud enough of this to post it here.

I'm looking for crit. on my musical interpretation only, as this was one of the first times I've played without sheet music (thus technicality won't be perfect). I've also only been playing for 3 and a half years, so any advice is welcome.

  • Ohmaigawsh!

    This sounds amazing!

I am also a tenor sax player and was thinking about playing this for a solo.

Could you send me sheet music? Or like, tell me where to find some?

Cuz the only sheet music I can find is for like the harmony.

  • @GameFreak2411 You can usually find sheet music for this piece at any music store, or if they don't have it in stock, tell them the name and composer of it and they can order it in within a week.

  • how long have you been playing?? That sounds professional!

  • @lovehamsters14: I've been playing for about 3 - 3 and a half years so far.. but I thank-you for the comment! I'm glad that you liked my playing.

  • @joeeeymackx Agree...it is a nice sounds, but a more open and through tone would make this ever better!!

  • memorized and everything! very well Done, and professional hand to the accompanist!

  • This is really nice playing for such a young player! I've been teaching saxophone for 20some years. You are off to a great start. (I don't mean to call 3 years just a start).

Hope you can find a great teacher to work with you.

    Good Luck

  • this is excellent stuff! especially when you've only been playing it for 3 years. very well controlled vibrato. i'm not in the position to comment so take my comment with a pinch of salt okay? for me i think the sound is too "closed", you may wanna open your throat especially at the higher notes. otherwise its excellent, well done!

  • I am also a tenor saxophone player and in love with the music of Maurice Ravel. I can't even tell you how much I enjoyed this. Your vibrato is wonderful. I'm probably going to attempt to play this piece as well. great job.

  • Simply beautiful. Your music is inspirational.
