The oooark library, http://sourceforge.net/projects/oooark/ , allows rapid prototyping of control/ navigation/ guidance systems for autonomous sytems. Demonstrated here is its application to autopilot development. Oooark is open source and licensed under GPL v3.
Looks very nice and I do have a question. This library is implemented in Scicos, does it also work with Scilab or is there a compatibility issue? I haven't got any experience with either yet but Scilab's Java implementation looks appealing. Is using Scicos and Scicoslab much nicer than using SciLab and Xcos or is it a matter of preference? Thanks.
