The divine Ms.Valerie Maxfield or Valerie M, as known by the club/dance/garage scene, has been featured on records that have been sold millions of copies worldwide, with her gravelly dulcet tones.
Ms M is more famously known as the ex front woman super dance group Groove Armada and not forgetting FREESTYLERS leading singer/MC.
But lets start from the beginning. Miss Ms career has spanned right the way from the Candy Girls (Positiva Rec.) scoring a double whammy with the chart toppers hits I Want Candy, and Fe Fi Fo Fum. Enjoying huge Chart success around the world. She then fronted The Lisa Marie Experience, with their worldwide smash hit Keep On Jumping & Reach Up (FFFR) and Jazzy Ms Jazzing The Way You Know and then onto Fronting the UKs first garage act, DA CLICK (FFFR/LONDON Rec.) who had two massive singles, We are Da Click and the classic GOOD RHYMES. Both tracks hitting top 10 and 20 in the National Charts with Brandon Block house re-mix hitting mainstream USA and Europe. Such success offered her supporting the likes of boy band Another Level appearing all over the UK , Europe and the Smash Hit Tours.
The millennium saw her take her first step in co-producing and writing. Firstly, with Ed Case (Gorillaz remixer) with the release When Im With You (Go Beat Rec.) Miss M has since gone on to become an accomplished singer/songwriter within her own rights and has written with top writers, i.e Alan Glass (Mis-teeq, Liberty X, No Angels) and Bruce Elliott-Smith (Oakenfeld, Spiller, Kylie), The Funk Brothers with the remake Groove Is In The Heart and Mosquitos Hungry For Your Love, released winter 2003 and many more.
Miss M being in such demand went on to vocal and co-write with the Multi Platinum selling FREESTYLERS joining the group in 1999 and shes still with them rocking strong in 2010.
Last but not least, in between the Freestylers, Miss M shared her front woman role with none other than super dance group Groove Armada in late 2002 til 2006 becoming their front person, touring the UK, Europe, Australia, Asia, The US North and South and featuring on their platinum selling Best of Album and DVD.
Lately MAXFIELD have been tucked away putting the finishing touches to their long eagerly awaited debut EP album, working alongside new producers, which is due to crash land in your stereo and the future looks very bright for this new band, as they now step up to the plate to take their place as ones for the future. Catch the build up to their debut release in Spring and at an array of festivals in 2010 and forthcoming tours.
