  • my safety has alot of resistance when i try to push it, i have oiled the hell out of it and it still has the same resistance, any tips?

  • @bulldogrj5020 I have never encountered one with that much resistance, why not try to clean it throughly, ensure there is no gunk, built up oil deposits, cosmoline build up or anything else inhibiting the operation, Once you have insured it's thoroughly cleaned out, lightly oil and put it back together to see what happens.

  • Very nice video!!! I have a 1941 that I picked up at a gun show that I use for live rounds and reenacting. I was looking at that company, so I know what your hinting at there.. But I love my Mauser!! Great rifles. I want to get a second one with a good barrel to put a synthetic stock on and use for accuracy shooting.

  • @emtffzartman I have one that I bought with a sporterized stock, but the action is good, that what your looking for? I have 40 Mausers, considering offing the lessor quality ones and keeping the really, really high end vet bring back ones that I have that are worth big bucks and keep a couple of shooters.

  • Kar 98k is so slim, what a sexy rifle. even girl can fire it.

  • Thank You for the education! I just traded 2 clock repairs for a 1916 Mauser from the Berlin foundry. She's 88 years old & her father bought the rifle back in 1918, he used it for hunting & died in the mid 60's. He apparently cared about it because she said he always kept it cleaned & oiled. Now I own it & the stock shows obvious signs of being in the field, some of the metal has a brown patina but the barrel still has bluing on it. All the actions are in working order with some sludge on it.

  • You should put an old blanket down, you will get that nice carpet oiled.

    Great info video...thank you.

  • @fjcaron ya it is fairly old, my grandpa gave me it a year ago, he brought it back from france in 1944 when he served, but it still works like a champ

  • i have a german mauser too and its very nice and has all pieces such as sight hood and all, but mine weighs like 9 pounds and the way you picked it up after you took out the magazine it looked like it weighs 3 pounds i cant even do that easily like that how much does yours weigh

  • @fjcaron Yea. Thats exactly what I am looking for. I dont need a high end rifle but a decent one. shooting like 300 yards max..
