He is.

No, they're not. The M1 Abrams MBT uses a smoothbore main gun.

@FHFCFB100 i think he's talking about how the US M1 Abrams tanks have a smoothbore main cannon

@FHFCFB100 If you're seaking as an American I think you'll find the Abrams, from the M1A1 onwards are armed with the German Rheinmetall 120 mm gun which is smoothbore and fires fin-stabilised ammunition.
The original M1 was indeed armed with the British L7 105mm rifled main gun but all M1s were upgraded to M1A1 standard in 1990.

And now again against the leopard 2 :D

@scrapper1280 I wasn't implying the T90's electronics were superior, just that they increase accuracy. Remember you can't assume that just because the tank got a kill at 5 K in a single isolated event that all Chally 2's can perform as such, but 5 KM is impressive. T90 is meant to be a bullet stopper, that is, its meant to be used in large numbers to overcome a superior enemy, and with its small price tag, thats exactly how it would happen, should Russia go to war.

@FPSPiersbroadcast T-90's gun is not smoothbore for a larger calibre round, you can get much larger rifled shells fine but the reason it was chosen 125mm and smoothbore is so it has the ability to fire missiles from the main barrel. T-90's Infra-Red optics are inferior to CR2's Infra-Red.
Also CR2's ammo is 3-part ammunition, where all parts are stored seperate, so it has a very low chance to brew up compared to other tanks of it's type.

@FPSPiersbroadcast Challenger2 can destroy tanks at a range exceeding 5KM. This is proven by the kill Challenger1 made in the gulf war of 5.1KM. The gun used on Challenger1 was the Charm L11, the gun used on CR2 is the Charm L30 so it is more than capable. I believe that the Challenger2 would be able to engage from a longer range due to it's far superior optics and fire control system.

@scrapper1280 cont. The T90's main gun is smooth bore, allowing it to fire a larger caliber, but obviously decreasing accuracy but its advanced electronics and infra red optics somewhat compensate for that.

Oh Jeremy, our barrel's are rifled too.
