He just want everybody to get care and stop the abuse by the HI companies who had turned down coverage for people who get sick or have a pre-existing system. Also I went to Japan last winter and got into a skiing accident and the quality of care was the best i got.

No becuase universal health care means Universal coverage idiot. Also they are not dropping it becuase even people there don't trust The private sector like you guys do alot. I mean they know your system is shit becuase of the HI companies and discrimination in HC. Plus They are turning to the Swiss and Japanese systems which have proven to be successful UHC systems.

spends 8% GDP

unlike UK and Canada, Japan doesn't pay taxes on Health care,

instead signs up for certain insurance policy, you can get it through work or the community pan

The premiums are $280 per month, employer pays half

HI companies are barred from profiting from basic HC

govt. and Private sector negotiate for a low price.

Obama is trying to bring the Hybrid system which is based on the Bismarck in which both the govt. and free enterprise can co-exist but with govt. regulation to tame the market's wild behaviour. This is used in Japan, Switzerland , germany, France, NZ, and France.
