I have a difficult time believing this song is merely "made up." If he wrote it with the same emotion and memory that it evokes in me when I hear it, it almost seems appropriate that the song's end would be met with silence by the audience. One of the most painfully beautiful songs I have ever heard. Hat's off and pint's up to you ya Hayes!
