I sing this song with great pride in memory of my dear friend Wally Moon from my Mi'gMaq community of Listuguj, Quebec.
Wally Moon was in the Mighty Mohawks Band and wrote the Mi'gMaq half of this song.
I wrote the last verse of this song as a dedication to Wally Moon.
As a young boy growing up in a small native community I had a passion for music. Wally Moon was someone I looked up to and he was an inspiration to me and my music. And for that, I say wela'lin, thank you Wally Moon for making the trail for me to follow.
Awesome! It was an honour to watch your video. Wally Moon was my uncle. I have never met you but I guess you know many of my family. I am Brian Moon's oldest sister. Shirley
