  • This was classic old school wrestling. I remember this one. It was only weeks or so after Lanza went "good-guy". That happened in winnipeg, Manitoba. I wish someone could find that match. I'd sure love to have the DVD of it!! Bockwinkel, Heenan, Dick the Bruiser, the Gagne's, Mad Dog, etc. nothing that Vince McMahon ever had tops them!! Too bad entertainment and costumes was more popular than wrestling! :( I saw the most recent interview with Bobby Heenan and even he was sad the AWA is gone!

  • 4 of the all-time greats going at it here.

The angle with Blackjack Lanza coming out & talking Mulligan into turning face and reforming the Blackjacks was great.

  • I liked how Mad Dog was so crazy he was treated like a force of nature. It wasn't so much that he had heel or face turns, it was just he got pissed and teamed with a good guy to whack the rats.

Awesome wrestler. Four of the best in the ring.

  • Something so pure about this video. Wrestling worked as a shoot, not worked as a way to sell t-shirts or please your son in law, but wrestling as the way it was meant to be presented, 4 tough non-pretty boys fighting it out, with an actual turn that makes sense.

  • for you to put in 15 years into wrestleing you had to be in good shape and love the sport, cause the work and the beatings you took, must have taken its toll through the years and no off seasons.thanks to the old school boys.

  • THIS was true OLD-SCHOOL wrestling. Way it should be. Thanks to Vince for ruining it.

  • Wrestling before it was destroyed by Vince McMahon...

  • Pure joy from start to finish.

  • I agree!

  • Great Video.... Maddog is #1....

  • Good stuff!

    RIP Reggie. :(

  • Wow - this would have been near the end of both Crusher's and Vachon's careers, no? And Crusher and Mad Dog were mortal enemies at one time, too. I remember Black Jack Lanza (but never in that get-up) but not Mulligan. And where's Bobby Heenan?

  • I was at this match. I was such a huge fan of the AWA back in the Twin Cities when I was young. I remember this night well - the night Lanza turned Mulligan into a good guy. Those wrestlers might think they have long been forgotten, with the growth of the WWF, but they are most certainly not forgotten. They created more excitement, more drama and more personality than a hundred modern day events. All you have to do is listen to the crowd to know how much fun they were to attend. Thanks!

  • Bockwinkel got what he deserved! Mad Dog is the best!
