The word "Deseret" has strong religious connotation with the Mormon Church (don't ask me why - I have no clue).

  • If I were you, MrCropper, I would go ahead and join the Mormon Church. Open up a Mormon school and then sneek in Objectivism where you can. I know that sounds awful, but I really doubt anything else will work out.

I'm going with a different angle: the proof (of good education) is in the pudding (the child after several months of instruction). It won't be hard to spread the word if I am successful at teaching them better, faster, and more.

The Objectivism part won't even be interesting to parents who want my school because of the results I give.

  • Do not be surprised if LDS inc. contests the use of THEIR word "DESERET" in a business setting. The LDS will never "fill the earth". Sure they have their secret handshake temples and pesky missionaries scattered across the globe. It is using them up. Less and Less Baptisms all the time and UNused empty temples!

If they work really hard they might fill the pimple that they barely are on the butt of the catholic church. MORmONS! LMAO.

  • Fuck the meek.

  • By whom? I would scarcely consider a 13mil member church on the cusp of world domination

  • Whether they did it impromptu or planned it in advance it would be one of the grandest creations of a new culture that's ever happened. Harold Bloom fears the Church's capacity in the near future. He's said he feels that soon the US Government could not run without the sanction of the LDS Church. The real kicker being that we have more members outside the US than in it.

"Blessed are the meek, for they shall inherit the earth"

  • Funny how that works, the 'stupidest' being one of the most potent and widespread. Being now viewed as potentially the next 'great world religion.'

  • in my relativism we are all on our own paths, and I think if MrCropper is following the path he's driven on then he will learn from nature and ultimately this will benefit me too, if only by demanding the same right myself, but probably more so than that, even if right now he happens to want to teach things I disagree with. So long as it's non-violent, I have no problem with it ultimately.

  • I'd have to agree. It seems like it was forced to be that way in order to stand out. My theory is that Brigham Young, et al, simply saw an opportunity to establish their own theocracy out West and so they needed something new - but not too new - to get people to follow them into the unknown.

  • The Mormon religion is by far the stupidest of all modern religions.

  • I notice you didn't answer my question about where your cats are...? I have a cat too, and I love cats. However, I know we disagree about many political issues. You may be aware that I referred to you as 'Mr. Crocker' in a text response to one of Azrienoch's video. It may be difficult to believe, but that was not a... conscious... error on my part. No, we don't agree on many political/economic issues, but that slip was not... consciously, at least... intentional.
