@bg1379 Big Ben is one of five bells in the belfry. The melody is played on four bells, and then the hour chime is Big Ben.

@thekylejohn1 Thanks for asking. This video was part of our 'Happy Birthday, Big Ben' project in 2009. The idea was to make a video to allow people, who might not be able to access the stairs, to see what happens inside the clock tower.

How the chimes works when it's the time to chime? they don't even have timers

@TheKeith1814 The chimes are connected by cables to the chiming train of the clock (which is in a room directly beneath the belfry).

Wow I always thought Big Ben was the name of the clock tower, I didnt know it was the name of the bell. I dont know what to believe anymore...

There is a lot of writing on the tower. I so far only saw " Domint Salvam Fac Reginam Nostrum Victorian Primam", and I see there is some writing on Big Ben itself. What does it all mean?
