Colt 1911 Series 80 Officers Model

We were test firing a Colt 1911 Series 80 after some gun smithing.
The pistol shot fine, but the Magazine Floorplate fell off while removing it from the pistol

Yes Officers Model is a size a bit shorter then the full size 1911

no more.. I really don't think of the 1911 as an abusive kick (recoil) not as much as a lightweight .40 for example

I'm not a "1911 guy" so I'd have to look at another pistol to be sure

My officer model was my first true 1911. Hoping to trade several other guns for a commander or government model some day. It would be nice to own all three.
