I've ipod 80GB grey and it's not slow, but OS is frmo 2007, would need and upgrade, plus, there itunes bug with.

The ipod 5.5g is slower because it has a hard drive...and the nano a flash memory. But copying files its much more faster the 5.5g...
As simple as that.

Still they both suck if you compare them to other players. Ecspeccialy if you look at the price. Ipods are so expenscive compared to creative players or other ones.

Its only because the video has a harddrive which has to spin up and move to the right position. I think if you want the space then you have to live with it. Its not like its doing it during the video
