@Virchew Presumably to appeal to all the different cultures - the street you can see in this opening would look familiar to someone from Germany or Austria, but unusual to an American for example. :)

Omg! The brown one looks like the Bear in the Big Blue House and Big Bird mixed together. I wonder why they make Sesame Street's so different in different languages.
