  • You people bitching about the price hikes voted for Obama so just live with it. This is what he said he would do and you were just so proud to vote for a black man that you never heard what he said.

  • For those who caused the disturbance, it was on state property. You are all VERY lucky you weren't up on state charges instead of being charged by the city of Milwaukee. I've checked the tuition rates, and they are actually cheaper there than at Madison, GB, etc. The people who work for the UW system have no say in tuition rates, salaries etc. That's up to the state. I think the protestors would have been much smarter to do what the cops told them to do instead of being violent.

  • @MattSellsCraigslist Its a cool school man I go there to, there is lots of stuff going on all the time concerts, comedians, events, etc. Couple tips, 1: Get a good par of shoes and get ready to walk great distances. 2: Learn the bus routes, specifically bus 30 and 15. 3. go out and about every weekend in the fall. You'll see protest and I am fine with most of them, just this one made big news and I knew it was trouble when I walked past them.

  • Hey I'm going to be a student at UWM next spring. I was just wondering how you like everything there. I'm personally excited about coming and I just want your opinions on everything. I'm also interested in making friends!!! Thanks so much!!!

    Matt

  • The FOX link shows it, the students throw ice chunks at the cops!!!!! Clear as day, your just like the hippies in the sixties, "O were all about peace" Then why are you using violence!!!!

  • Didn't they throw ice chunks at the cops???? CNN shows a video, that makes the story look sweater, bad cops...I saw the whole thing, some idiots picked up ice chunks and threw them at the cops, yes the wrong people were arrested, but let go with no charges...

  • I think they're lucky it's not 1960 anymore. UWM is actually one of the better values around. People these days aren't happy unless they're bitching about something.

  • The reporter arrested was asked repeatedly to back away from the cops, buthis own video shows he got right up to them and essentially harassed them with the camera. It was then he was arrested. He admitted to the UWM Post that was an "independent journalist", i.e. some guy with a camera. He was not "legitimate" in any way.

  • It's so frustrating, because Chapman is a public building and technically the police chief was in the wrong for denying access. However people should not have been throwing snowballs simply because they couldn't go into the building. It's a tried and true police tactic, detain a protest and everyone gets angry and bored, which leads to bad decisions..

  • I have seen the videos of the SDS'ers throwing ice chunks at the cops and punching the cops.
