To watch Ron Carter lead a jazz ensemble is to see music in motion.
Carter dances. He scats. He grunts. And even though the sounds energize him to a state of near nirvana, a clever improvised solo seems to excite him even more.
Carter serves as director of jazz studies in the School of Music and conductor of the famed NIU Jazz Ensemble and the NIU Liberace Jazztet.

OMG! I LOVED THIS VIDEO! Mr. Carter was not only the greatest music teacher I've ever had he was like a father to me and a lot of students at Lincoln. I know he had the ability to take that success wherever he goes. NIU Jazz is awesome!
