  • I knew this performance. Impossible no to think to Richter. 2 ways of understanding this masterpiece. Herreweghe's performance is more "baroque", of course, but so great. Gent's Choir and Orchestra are perfect. It's a very fine way to play Bach. Not only elegant. Too deep for that. Herreweghe or how to create tenseness without looking for effects. Magnificent
