I went to the tournament in Windsor, Ontario, Canada in August 1988 where Pete Weber failed to show up for the third round. That is what caused him to be suspended.

What year is this from?

Jeez, how many times was Weber suspended from the PBA?!?!

In my opinion, PDW is the greatest. It's a shame he had so many personal demons early on in his career. This year, he's been practically non-existent on the tour....is age catching up w/ PDW?

It's possible but I think the scoring on tour is out of control. Maybe it's the way the lanes breakdown, maybe it's equipment, or maybe they have been tweaked to be easier. Whatever the case nobody benefits from a carry contest. It only hurts the truly great players like Weber. Every week should be like the US Open pattern in my opinion.

He was also suspended in 1995, the start of the '98 & '99 seasons, not to mention another six month "vacation" after the 2000 winter tour, to boot.

Let's face it, he's the best talent that ever picked up a bowling ball. If he had the brain of WRW or Mike Aulby combined with his ability your looking at 100 title winner and Bowler's Journal wouldn't have WRW on this month's cover as the Greatest Ever.

I know of at least 2 suspensions this one and 91. The 91 suspension definitely hurt him for player of the year. I think he may have beat out Ozio. In 91 he won back to back titles with the gutterball and Johnny Petraglia Open, then won the US Open a month or so later. Then he missed the entire summer tour, came back in the fall and made one show on the fall tour.
