Sir Bobby Charlton is everything that is pure, wholesome and decent in the British game. A truly great player, leader and inspiration to those that followed. May he have many more glorious years as Director and ambassador at Manchester United.

This was the greatest tribute of Charlton's career; not so much the award itself but the warmth and the love from the crowd. This was a Liverpool crowd, not just applauding but cheering. I defy any United fan to keep a dry eye.
