This little mare practically became a barrelhorse over night. I started her last winter and exhibitioned her at a few places hoping to run futurities. She got a leg sliced up in a fence in January, so it put a damper on her 5 yr old year. I got back on her in May and penned bulls and steers at our bullridings all summer and fall. It wasnt until October when I was bored at an all weekend barrelrace in Belton that I did a few exhibitions on her and she actually made some nice turns and acted like she knew what she was doing. I entered her in the race the next day and she placed third in the 3D. Her next two runs came in November where she got 2nd in the 3D and 1st in the 2D. Although she doesn't have a lot of hussle between the barrels yet, she is getting snappier around them making up some time. At Booger's barrelnanza she made nice little run. There were a few mistakes, but considering it was her first time in a big scary coliseum with banners, walls and noise, she locked onto all three barrels. I couldn't have ask for more from her!!
