  • You are right these little outboards are a pain

But when you get one running in the water

You have done something very few have

    Accomplished.

    Thanks for watching

  • I love this thing. What a fun little guy.

  • that is an awesome little motor. it looks great. That would be a pain in the butt if you actually wanted to use it on a regular bassis. I mean the way you have to start it.

  • hi; what process do you use to polish the aluminum ? thanks , tom

  • Great demonstration. I’ve seen others run once on a boat.

There was a light breeze and it was more than the motor

could over come. The patients of the operator along with

his ability to understand what the motor needs is the key to

running any finicky motor. The reward is accomplishing

what others say can’t be done. Congratulations.

  • You have a great collection of old outboards and a wealth of knowledge on them. Your restoration work is beautiful and they all seem to run very well also. Would you consider compiling a DVD of your 20+ videos as downloading all of the 8minute+ videos is costing me a small fortune in internet access, when I want to watch them over and over.

  • @richkissinger

The spark plug in these is a very short 3/8" item, the one in my Clarke Troller isn't branded and other Lodge and Champion plugs I have found are too long & won't fit under the cover. The closest I have found is made by AC & is available from Green Sparkplugs in the UK. I think I recognise the spark plug shown in outboardmotormans video as one made by Napco in the US, contact Paul Napco on Napco-ltd@q.com & he will send you his list of spark plugs with dimensions hope this helps

  • Hi I am in Australia and have a Clarke Troller myself, although the later version. I have had an article published on these and have to date identified nine of them here in Australia, some "A" models like yours and some later models like my Clarke. My motor and one other are still in running order. I will have to make and upload a video of My Clarke as there is relatively little information to be found on these on the internet.

  • I have a clarke troller and every thing looks to be in good shape but i can not find out anywere what size and # of spark plug it takes or were i can buy a spark plug. I can see you are very smart about outbaoards , could you send me a e-mail about information on the right size spark plug. ravenhaven20@aol.com thank you , Rich K.
