1A Auto shows you how to repair, install, fix, change or replace a broken radiator fan. If your car overheats or runs hot and the radiator cooling fan will not turn on then this may be your solution. This video is performed on a 1995 Honda Accord, the process is the same for 1994-1997 Honda Accords.

  • If the thermostat is not opening, would this cause the fan not to come on?

  • @nooch812 If it's a mechanical fan it could be a bad fan clutch.

  • @1aauto If it's an electrical fan on the vehicle that you have it could be a bad relay or sensor that tells the fan when to kick on.

  • When you have to remove a fan that needs an adjustable wrench what size wrench is good for most cars like that? Would a 15, 18, or 25 inch work? I was thinking about getting a 15 inch long one

  • @nico27004 Using the proper size wrench would be ideal for the job, however if that's all that you have is an adjustable wrench, you may want to use one on the smaller side so that you can easily assess all of the bolts. Hope this helps you out.

  • Can you make a video for changing out the thermostat housing(not the thermostat cover, the part behind it that holds the thermostat)for 1994-1997 honda accord? Please, I would like to see if I can change that on my own, or if I really need a mechanic to replace my thermo housing with the their tools.

  • @TrystShawn82 We currently do not have an auto repair video on this particular repair. We'll keep this in mind in the event that we need to make this repair in the future. We carry the Haynes repair manuals on our website that should show you how to make this repair. Here's a link to them on our website. Hope this helps you out. 1aauto.com/1A/repairmanual/Honda/Accord/1AMNL00031/219914/1994

  • @1aauto tyvm for replying :) I wound up taking the car into a mechanic anyway. The 2nd bolt started stripping(attempting to take off the housing). I did not continue, as I did not want to destroy my engine further. I have a Haynes manual already. It does not show or tell how to remove the thermostat housing in the cooling, heating, and air conditioning systems chapter(3), only the thermostat itself, as well as the cover :(

  • @babylokita0514 The thermostat tells the radiator fan when to kick off and on so that it cools the motor down. If the thermostat doesn't work it could cause the motor to over heat.

  • i need help what if i didnt have the thermostat fan what can happen????
