Where was Minato when Naruto needed father the most? He sacrifaced himself for Konoha. He was a patriot, not a parent. Iruka took care of Naruto. After 16 years Minato's spirit appears and tells him who are they for each other. For Naruto he never existed as a dad. I just think the true father is the one, who took care of a child.

I don't care how anyone else looks at it, Minato was both a father to Naruto and the savior of the village.

Without him, the whole village would have been destroyed.

Naruto was in the village. If he didn't sacrifice himself, everyone, including Naruto would have perished, and in my honest opinion, the most you could ever do for your child to really prove that you care about them would to give up everything to show that you care, even if it means your life.

That's just how i see it.
