Mnuel Terron's Original cocktail with MIDORI
(ingredients) MIDORI、Yamazaki 12 year old whiskey、Vanilla Liqueur、Dash of Angostura bitters
High alcoholic content
Semi-sweet flavor with cocktail glass
After spending some 8 years in New York City I was fortunate enough to live very close to Times Square for a time. Right there at the north end was a billboard dedicated to Suntory whiskey, the same place where MIDORI was advertised after its launch in 1978. So this cocktail is a dedication to that that magical place in the heart of the Big Apple. This is a strong drink fashioned on the great Manhattan cocktail except using Yamazaki 12 year old as the whiskey base, which has a softer and smoother character to it than Bourbon. To this I added a touch of MIDORI for some fruitiness, vanilla liqueur for sweetness to mellow the spirit and a hint of spice in the guise of Angostura Bitters. This sophisticated cocktail is finished of with a spritz of lemon to give some lift on the nose and is the most ideal finish to any meal.

@gtaleone Yea that was my point. It's closest in flavor profile to the Scottish style, although Japanese whiskeys have a unique profile all their own

@RoughCut Yamazaki is a Japanese whiskey

Yamazaki is not technically a scotch , it has to be made in Scotland to be legally called a scotch, being from Scotland shouldn't you know that?
