This video is of my first power head installation a Hydor Koralia 1200 GPH and trying to find the proper placement so not to damage any corals while still find adequate flow throughout the Reef Tank.

Review of this Power Head after 2 months

  • @MrBAchompBAchomp Thats awsome, can't wait to check them out.

  • Are the koralias loud or quiet? I'm looking for a quiet powerhead for my tank as my old one is a little too loud for me.

  • @shuwae I can't hear any noise coming from that power head.

  • Hows your tank now

  • @astchiefy Lots and lots of changes, but things are going well. Thanks for checking out my video! :~)

  • @tkdhav yea im going to try that... ive got a nano and the output seems to move detritus in the front... THe way you have it set in the beginning is probably best for me for the back portion.. Informative video.. Happy reefing.. :)

  • @Gtrplyr1 Thanks Gtrplyr1, After about a week your power will reduce the speed it is pushing water a bit after its broke-in, also the best combination I normally use with my power head is I have it lower in the tank and point it across the tank and upward.

  • i am having the same problem.. Just picked up a powerhead today for my nano tank.. and trying to aim it to without disturbing my xenias.. Nice tank, looks good :)

  • howdy dude if you put all you water flow coming from the back of the tank to the front and pointing up to the surfice so that it just ripples the surfice not brakes the surfice you will get better airation and secondly by having all the water traveling forward it will cause the water to tumble moving your corals and not blasting them with harsh water flows its just my idea could be wrong but it works for me

    cheers love the videos

oh and i know the spelling sux lol
